New Roots Recovery Village will host Break the Stigma: Overdose Awareness & Recovery Event on Saturday, September 26, from 2:00–6:00 PM at the Randolph County Courthouse Square in Winchester. This free community event will bring residents together to raise awareness, support recovery, remember lives lost to overdose and addiction, and connect individuals and families with helpful resources.

The event will feature national recovery speaker John Humphries, host of the Escaping the Chains podcast, along with other speakers and opportunities to learn about recovery and community support.

Activities and resources throughout the afternoon will include:

  • Recovery and community resources

  • Vendors and food trucks

  • Music

  • Narcan education and distribution

  • Silent auction

  • Kids’ activities

  • A special remembrance ceremony honoring loved ones lost to addiction and overdose

The event is designed to help reduce the stigma surrounding addiction while celebrating recovery and reminding community members that resources and support are available. Families and residents of all ages are welcome to attend.
