American flags line both sides of a quiet residential street in a small town, with trees, sidewalks, and homes under a clear blue sky.

The Village of Union City Ohio is celebrating the upcoming 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States with a community-wide patriotic display. American flags have been installed along several key corridors and entry points to honor this historic milestone and showcase local pride.

Newly placed flags now line the right-of-way along East Elm Street and East Main Street, as well as the North and South State Line entrances into the community. These prominent locations were selected to welcome both residents and visitors while serving as a visible tribute to the enduring spirit and unity of the nation.

“The 250th anniversary of the United States is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reflect on our shared history and celebrate the values that define us as Americans,” said the Union City Village Council. “By displaying these flags throughout our community, we hope to foster a sense of pride, remembrance, and unity among all who call Union City home.”

This effort is part of a broader initiative to engage the community in commemorating America’s semi-quincentennial. The Village Council encourages residents, local organizations, and businesses to take part by displaying American flags, decorating storefronts, and participating in upcoming community events.

The Village extends its appreciation to those who helped bring this project to life and invites the entire community to take pride in the display. Union City is proud to join communities across the nation in honoring 250 years of American independence.
