The past week has been a BLUR in Union City.
Beginning May 31 with the community wide CLEAN UP...Union City removed roughly 720 cubic yards of trash from our neighborhoods.
Thank you to each and every member of our community who helped make this possible. Many may question...WHY?... the answer is simply Union City is a cleaner, healthier, and happier community because of one simple coordinated act. The trash, rubbish, and debris harbors mold and bacteria growth, enables insects to have a habitat to multiply, and provides areas for rodents, and other animals to invade our properties causing thousands of dollars of damage. Today, some of these concerns have been diminished.
Saturday June 8...the next thing on the to-do-list for our community. Second Saturday Markets continue to be a local favorite anchored by our Amish produce & flower market. SSM continues to grow and adds new vendors as the summer moves on. Don't miss the next one!...Saturday July 13 in Historic Downtown Union City.
We also celebrated a Union City fixture to our community...The CORNER CUPBOARD! Wow!...32 years in business in Union City. Thank You Shelly and Tim for everything you have done to help us get here..
The Union City State-Liners Car Club thought June 8th was a "good day" for a Downtown Cruise-In. Boy were they RIGHT! Registration began at 3:00...by early evening...we had hosted 271 registered classic cars, motorcycles, and golf carts in our downtown streets. Once again, We can not give enough THANKS to our local car club...they work tirelessly to host two cruise in's a year with no promise for a good turnout of cars, good weather, or anything else. They do it because they LOVE UNION CITY and they have a never-ending desire to show off their passion for classic cars and history. It is a spectacle that everyone needs to visit...just because its COOL!
And just because...we thought, what a GREAT time for an Artisan Crossing Summer Concert. Yes, that's correct, we hosted Cooke & Belle on the Artisan Crossing Stage from 5:00-8:00. This community was ready to unwind, have a good time, celebrate our community successes, put differences aside, and ultimately fellowship with one another. We are STRONGER TOGETHER.
All total...we would guess roughly 3,000+ people visited our Historic Downtown on Saturday June 8...from as far away as Arkansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. Seems pretty remarkable for a small town in the middle of nowhere, with nothing to do!
UNION CITY...We're Glad U CAME!
