Establishing a new image for the community.
Thank You!…to Randolph County Solid Water Management for the $3,000.00 recycling grant awarded to Union City early this spring. The funds were spent on the purchase of 12 new trash receptacles in downtown. The units are made with recycled plastic. We reveal to the community the finished product now. The first 12 cans will soon display a very clear message and branding…Keep UC Clean with the city flag displayed proudly. The plan will be to continue looking for opportunities to add to the number of trash receptacles in and around our downtown corridors…in total, it will take roughly 60 to effectively accommodate both sides of the state line with the same message.
What happened to the old ones you may ask…they too are being recycled. They are currently being fixed and prepped by our community’s Public Works Department, for a new facelift and signage as well. The old downtown trash receptacles will be placed along the walking trail in Harter Park reminding everyone to do their part and Keep UC Clean. We will also be placing signage with this simple message in strategic areas around our community as a general reminder…
We would also like to say Thank You to HydroJet Signs of Union City for always being responsive to our ideas and knocking the finished product out of the ballpark.
Thank You for doing your part to help Keep UC Clean!
